Winter is good for your soul

As we approach winter, people across the UK bid goodbye to their flip flops for another year and brace themselves for the onset of the cold British weather.  For many sun worshippers, this is a gloomy time of year, as the nights draw in early and mornings become darker.  However, the cold also brings with it a whole host of opportunities to cosy up and spend some quality ‘me’ time.  Megaflo, the hot water specialists, are here to show us why we should love winter.

‘Tis the season to drink hot chocolate
Whether you drink it on its own, smothered with whipped cream, adorned with fluffy marshmallows or even with a nip of your favourite liqueur for that extra kick, hot chocolate is the drink of winter.  Warming, wholesome and comforting, there’s nothing quite like it after a long day or on a chilly weekend.  The perfect, guilt-free excuse to spoil yourself!

A bath a day keeps the chills away

Winter means keeping warm and cosy and there’s no better way to soak away your chills and worries than taking a nice, long, hot bath.  Whether it’s a romantic affair by candlelight, some fun time splashing with the kids or simply some relaxing alone time, a bath will leave you feeling fabulous, so embrace the cold season and get bathing!
A date with your sofa
All the best TV series start in winter – Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor to name just two, not to mention the new series of Homeland, so what better excuse to stay in, hit the sofa and let yourself be entertained.

Hotwater bottles, slipper socks and dressing gowns…
Everyone loves snuggling up in their ‘comfies’ and let’s face it – what better time to do it than in winter.  So think chunky slipper socks, ugg boots, dressing gowns, hot water bottles and fleecy blankets and embrace the warmth!

It’s nearly Christmas!
The start of winter marks the official countdown to Christmas and the party season.  Whether you’re picking out your Christmas outfit, eating your first mince pie of the season, enjoying the fairy lights, sipping mulled wine or planning your Christmas party, it’s the most exciting time of year and it only happens in – you guessed it – winter.
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

There’s nothing that brings more excitement than waking to a winter wonderland, covered in snow.  Though the UK climate is unpredictable at the best of times, it’s the winter which brings the promise of sledging, building a snowman and snowball fights!
Fireworks
Whether for Diwali, Bonfire Night, Christmas or New Year’s Eve, winter celebrations mean fireworks and the time of year when the night’s sky is lit up with all the colours of the  rainbow.  Love them or hate them, there’s no denying, they are the perfect way to enjoy the great outdoors, so wrap up warm and get out there.
